Profile
Currently Programme Manager of the Gender & Sexuality Programme of Refugee Law Project (RLP). For the past 9 years, I have garnered progressive work experience in conducting evidence-based research, policy advocacy and direct service provision to urban refugees in Kampala, and training duty bearers including the Uganda Police, Military, Civil Society Organisations, University students, and Refugee leaders, on refugees-related issues.
I have coordinated strategic research projects on conflict-related sexual violence through RLP’s partners inter alia, School of Global Studies-Göteborg University, Institute of Development Students, Organisation for Refuge, Asylum and Migration (ORAM), Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and Women Refugee Commission.
While at SOAS, I participated in SOAS Sanctuary Scholarship Appeal dubbed "Education Beyond Borders", to support displaced people who cannot access student finance, a chance to enter higher education in UK. Alongside studies, I hosted a weekly talkshows on refugee issues at SOAS Radio in a programme titled ‘SOAS Refugee Forum‘. The programme offered interviews with lecturers, researchers, students, refugees, policy makers and practitioners working on refugee-related issues in and out of London, to raise awareness on the plight of refugees, and increase knowledge on refugees and forced migration.
