Dear Friends and Colleagues,
Refugee Law Project (RLP) is pleased to share with you yet another remarkable publication from Angom Ruth, a 4th year law student at Makerere University doing internship with Refugee Law Project, Lamwo Field Office.
The article, titled “Proactive Approaches Required for Transformative Political Participation of Refugee Women and Girls“, throws light on the contentious debates surrounding the question whether women are doing enough to support fellow women in the empowerment struggle to attain their full leadership potential. The article is based on her experience during internship while supporting the Office of the Prime Minister in conducting Refugee Welfare Council Elections. This encounter sparked numerous questions in her mind, which she poses to the readers.
The article also explores some ways that may be used to address the challenges that hinder refugee women and girls from achieving their full leadership potential.
Enjoy your reading and kindly do share any comments and suggestions.
Thank you.
